Event Phone: (303) 442-3282
Admission Price: $9-$12
Growing “space” plants, flying simulated (virtual reality) missions to the surface of an asteroid, analyzing rocks in a glovebox and putting out fires? Come hear from the mission commander of NASA’s Human Exploration Research Analog (HERA) XII campaign about the effects of stress, isolation and confinement during a simulated deep-space mission in a three-story habitat at the NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas. Learn about Earth/Mars analog expeditions to the Atacama Desert in Chile, Ojos del Salado, the world’s highest active volcano, and Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. As humanity prepares for its journey to Mars, the more we can learn here on Earth, the safer and more prepared we will be.
