The children’s collections at McDonald Public Library focus on astronomy, science, math, technology, and space exploration.

In addition, we offer technology resources for children. Families can experience the amazing Discovery Dome mobile planetarium at library events.

The theme packet collection is made up of book packets covering early childhood topics.

Through the Rotary-sponsored early childhood literacy program, children ages birth to three receive a canvas book bag, a gift board book, a poster, and a one-year photo membership. (Each quarter the parent is given a photo of the baby to place on a developmental chart at home.)

With funding from Humanities Texas, the library established La Música del Sur de Tejas/The Music of South Texas in 2012. This photo gallery honors Tejano music pioneers beginning in the 1930s.

Long-time resident, Joel Garcia, donated more than 30 paintings and mosaics to McDonald Library. Garcia has created mosaics and painted murals in Corpus Christi since 1959. The Joel Garcia art gallery is displayed on the south and west interior walls of the McDonald Library.

The Robert D. Campbell Center is a conference room dedicated to all things educational and job-related. In addition to job hunting resources, there is a computer provided by Workforce Solutions of the Coastal Bend that can be used solely for job hunting.
