Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi is one of five VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) locations in the Coastal Bend area. VITA is a program sponsored by the IRS and other nonprofits in the community to complete income tax returns at no charge for lower-income individuals and families.

Beginning Friday, Feb. 2, Islander student volunteers will be in the TAMU-CC Michael and Karen O’Connor Building, room 135, each Friday from 2-6 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 1-6 p.m. (closed March 15-17 for Spring Break and March 31 for Easter). Services are provided to those with incomes of $66,000 or less, with a special emphasis on helping the military, TAMU-CC students, faculty, staff, and other community members. Services will be offered through Sunday, April 14.
Both in-person and drop-off options are available. If taxpayers drop off their return, they must return 1-3 weeks later (by appointment) to review and receive their completed returns.
