Tótem observes family dynamics from the perspective of seven-year-old Sol. Taking place over a single day, the film follows Sol’s aunts and grandfather as they prepare with anticipation and dread for an ailing family member’s birthday party. Storylines begin to converge as Sol realizes the gravity of this year’s celebration.
