Sarah Maldoror: Jump to Joy
Q&A follows

Get a glimpse into the personality of filmmaker, activist, and artist Sarah Maldoror in this conversation with her daughter Annouchka de Andrade and filmmaker Beti Ellerson.

Andrade and Ellerson bring Maldoror’s legacy to life, enhancing your experience of the exhibition Sarah Maldoror: Tricontinental Cinema by inviting you to dig deeper into Maldoror’s life and her relationship to the arts, music, literature, and more. A Q&A follows the program.

Tricontinental Cinema is the first large-scale museum exhibition dedicated to Maldoror, a trailblazing filmmaker, the mother of African cinema, and a fighter for Black women’s empowerment. The Wexner Center’s presentation explores her five-decade career through an immersive landscape of projections, photographs, poetry, and letters, as well as a series of related talks, films, and performances.
