Spider Weaver, The Legend of the Kente Cloth is an adaptation from the book by Margaret Musgrave. The traditional African setting takes place in Ghana West Africa, where two brothers who are weavers, comes across a beautiful web on their way back to the village. One brother excitedly reaches for the web as it collapses and both are heartbroken at their opportunity to study the technique of the master weaver. The decide to return to the pathway, where they saw the spider weaving another web that is even more beautiful and full of color. They watch for hours as the spider showed off her skills and performs a dance for them upon her completion. They weavers hurriedly return to the village to begin weaver strips of cloth as all the Ashanti people watched amazed at the creations of the weavers. The king was to first to wear the intricate cloth that has woven messengers of good health, wealth, order, harmony, humanity and peace. The Kente cloth remains today as a part of the rich Ghanaian and African culture, Traditional songs, dance music and culture will accompany the story line.
