The George Kaiser Family Foundation established the Tulsa Awards for Theatre Excellence in 2008 to recognize the accomplishments of local theatre groups and to applaud their contributions to the performing arts community. The TATEs award up to $10,000 in prizes to non-profit, non-equity, Tulsa-based theater companies. In addition to the awards, GKFF supports local theater by providing master classes, rehearsal space and other audience-building initiatives.
