At this final Classics Series concert of the 2017-2018 season, Daniel Hege will also lead the Symphony in John Adams’ "The Chairman Dances" and Edward Elgar’s "In the South (Alassio)." Adams composed "The Chairman Dances" while he was working on the opera "Nixon in China." Elgar wrote "In the South" during a family holiday in Alassio, Italy, in the winter of 1903-04.
