David L. Boren has served as president of the University of Oklahoma for more than 20 years. Before that, as a U.S. Senator (1979-1994), he chaired the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, and he currently co-chairs the nonpartisan President’s Intelligence Advisory Board. At Yale, Boren majored in American History and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and selected as a Rhodes Scholar, which led to his earning a master’s in Philosophy, Politics and Economics at Oxford University. Boren also has a law degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Law. He was governor of Oklahoma from 1975 to 1979.
