The Council Oak Trio began its 22 years of merry music-making in 1994 as a Harwelden Institute touring ensemble. The chemistry of the founding members (Debbi Turner, Brad Behn and Susie Brown) evolved during the nine-month, 40+performances tour, and it was decided that they were not ready to abandon the ride. Subsequent performances have propelled the trio throughout Oklahoma and into venues tending to be as eclectic as their repertoire! Yes, the trio has the distinction of being the group that "opened" the now famous Castle of Muskogee (dressed in Renaissance garb, to boot), did theatre pieces with a skunk puppet and a dancing cat, and "found Mozart" in a children's presentation that toured in the schools and the library system. The group was honored to perform for Chamber Music Tulsa, OKMozart, Mayfest and, of course, the Brown Bag It programs throughout the decades! Although the personnel of the group has changed through the years, the Council Oak Trio maintains its lighthearted, audience-pleasing music-making for all ages!
