Experience the magic and majesty of the Mighty Wurlitzer Theatre Organ at the hands of award-winning organist Dave Wickerham, live in concert on Tampa Theatre’s historic stage. Named the 2011 American Theatre Organ Society’s “Organist of the Year,” Wickerham began playing the electronic organ at the age of four and had his first pipe organ experience at age 10. As a teen, he became the Associate Organist at the famous Organ Stop Pizza Restaurants in Phoenix, Mesa and Tucson, AZ, while he continued his musical education, later pursuing classical organ studies at the University of Arizona. He has delighted audiences at Pipes and Pizza in Lansing, IL, at the Piper Music Palace in Greenfield, WI, and as a featured organist at "Roxy's Pipe Organ Pizzeria,” part of a $26 million expansion at the FIESTA Casino and Hotel in Las Vegas. After seven years as the organist and curator with the legendary Milhous Collection in South Florida, Wickerham and his family recently returned to Michigan, where he serves as the Co-Manager and Organist-in-Residence at Crystal Theatre in Crystal Falls, a 1927 movie palace that now functions as a regional performing arts center. Wickerham has toured internationally - including six-week tours of Australia and New Zealand in 2003 and 2012 - and has recorded four albums of organ music.
