Beethoven’s love of the countryside pleasantly pours out of his Symphony No. 6, aptly called “Pastoral.” Hear his depiction of nature from the playful dancing of country folk to the power of thunder and storms. One of the greatest, and most demanding concertos, Brahms’ Piano Concerto No. 2 is an emotional journey through beauty, violent passion and grace, performed by returning pianist Javier Perianes. Michael Francis conducts.
