Raja discovers this for herself throughout the play, and uses the healing power of creativity to help her struggle through the loss of her many friends and loved ones. Irena teaches the children to use art as a tool for remembrance and healing. Hope is also an important theme, as hope is the only means for survival of the Holocaust.
