Hamilton de Holanda is an extraordinary Brazilian mandolinist. His unique approach to the mandolin, which required the addition of a fifth set of doubled strings and a revolution in technique, has the US press hailing him as the "Jimmy Hendrix", the French as "The Prince", and the Brazilian as "The King" of the mandolin. Inspired by choro, jazz, bossa nova, and sounds from the street, Hamilton continues to expand the repertoire of his instrument while remaining true to his roots in Brazil.
