Created by Royal Brougham and the Seattle Post-Intelligencer in 1936, the 82nd Annual MTRWestern Sports Star of the Year Awards celebrates the achievements of local athletes, coaches and others in the sports industry. The Seattle Sports Commission (SSC) continues this local sports industry tradition. Recreated as a high-energy awards show, this event is Seattle’s biggest night out in sports, where both local and national sports celebrities, media and fans gather to celebrate Washington’s sports stars, past and present. For guests wanting to make a full evening of this great sports recognition event, the evening will begin with a reception catered by Tom Douglas and complimentary beer and wine for and then moved into a plated dinner and the awards show. This year we are also offering a General Admission ticket option. This ticket includes entry after the reception for the rest of the group concludes. Food and beverages will be available at an additional cost from the concession stands on the second floor.
