In this four-part class, discover the local materials used by Pacific Northwest peoples for thousands of years to make boats, homes, tools and clothing. The traditional knowledge and skills to make these items has been passed down through generations and is still used today.
Explore the many materials and techniques used by indigenous people from the past to present day—from hunting to boatbuilding to weaving. Examine objects from Burke Museum collections while gaininghands-on experience with several traditional skills.
