Join us on the River Walk on Saturday, February 9, 2019, for the ethereal experience of casting lanterns into the river in honor of loved ones, hopes, dreams, and wishes. Admission is free, and lanterns are $5 each and are sold at the event (or $5.25 in advance- sold online here). PRE-PURCHASED LANTERNS WILL NOT BE SHIPPED. THEY ARE AVAILABLE FOR PICK-UP BETWEEN 3-8 pm ON THE DAY OF THE EVENT AT SAMUEL GOMPERS PARK (368 E. Market Street, opposite Hemisfair Park). Lanterns contain a floating light. 5 decoration stations will be provided to personalize your lantern. A unified launch will occur at sunset (6:30 pm). Lanterns may be not be cast into the river before 6:30 pm. We have ordered 30,000 lanterns this year and 4,000 illuminated butterfly sticks. The expanded event footprint includes 6 selling areas with a total of 44 lanes to purchase lanterns plus a dedicated Will Call station with an additional 6 lanes for will call pick-up. Please bring cash (do not bring bills over $20) to ensure lines move quickly for everyone. Limited credit card lanes are available (one per station).
