Bokashi Composting: Good for Your Landscape and the Planet
Venue: San Antonio Botanical Garden
Event Phone: (210) 536-1400
Admission Price: $10
Bokashi composting is a method of converting food waste, including meat and dairy, into a nutritious soil amendment using specialized bacteria in an anaerobic rather than aerobic process. This process preserves organic carbon and other nutrients that are often lost in the aerobic composting method. It is also a technique that can be used in an apartment or other living space without the benefit of an outdoor compost pile. In this workshop, join Betsy Gruy of Compost Queens and learn how to use Bokashi composting to turn kitchen waste into organic material for your garden, material that conserves water, creates healthier soil and plants, and sequesters carbon in the ground.
