Kap G is a Mexican American.[1] His family were immigrated from Mexico, while he was raised in the Atlanta metropolitan area, at the state of Georgia. He attended and graduated at Tri-Cities High School (Georgia).[2] He has collaborated with big name artists, such as Chief Keef, T.I., Wiz Khalifa, Young Jeezy and Kirko Bangz. His debut single, featuring a fellow rapper Chief Keef, which garnered him mainstream attention. Since then, Kap G has beginning remixing on the other artists' songs, in which a representative of the A&R Kawan Prather, discovered him and landed him a deal with Atlantic Records. Most of his lyrics represents his Mexican culture and are bilingual, containing lyrics in the English and the Spanish language. On March 6, 2014, he released his critically acclaimed mixtape, titled Like A Mexican through DatPiff.[3] He is currently in the studio recording his EP, with assistance from Pharrell Williams.[4] Kap G was included in the numerous articles for XXL magazine, and he became a candidate for XXL Freshman 2015.[5] In 2014, Kap G was signed to Pharrell Williams' label I Am Other.
