Join Holland and Sundance Books for the 8th installment of the salon-style discussion series, “Sunland.” Join us for an interactive discussion on the history of statement-making music videos from the 1980s to today. We will look at how the medium has evolved from the very first video that appeared on MTV in 1981 to the 2016 visual albums of Frank Ocean and Beyoncé and will discuss how music videos, with their unique mixture of music, art, and celebrity, have been used to make a statement - political, social and personal.
