The evil Carabosse curses Princess Aurora. Upon Aurora’s 16th birthday, she will prick her finger and die. The Lilac Fairy weakens the curse and proclaims Aurora will fall into a deep sleep for 100 years to be awakened by the kiss of a prince.

Upon Aurora’s 16th birthday, she is presented with a spindle from a stranger and, taking the present, pricks her finger. The whole court falls into a deep sleep. 100 years later, Prince Desire is led to the castle, where he battles the evil Carabosse, and kisses the sleeping princess, upon which everyone wakes up. A beautiful and joyous wedding ceremony follows.
