Fever Beam (Saint Petersburg, FL)

Fever Beam formed in the summer heat of St. Petersburg, Florida, where they quickly became known for their charismatic and high energy live show. Featuring Kasey’s twangy guitar and powerhouse singing matched by Dane and Sam’s infectious rhythms and vocal harmonies, Fever Beam has developed a sound affectionately referred to as “cowpunk”. The band has opened for acts like Gary Clark, Jr., Dex Romweber, Sarah Shook & the Disarmers, Thelma and the Sleaze, Thunderpussy, and more, leading the Tampa Bay Times and Creative Loafing to consistently cite Fever Beam as one of the best new bands to come out of Tampa Bay.

Fever Beam is currently in production on their debut EP, recorded by Simon Palombi (The Woolly Bushmen), and will be touring across North America in 2019.

Birthday Club - (Houston, TX)

Birthday Club is the music of Houston, TX-based musician, songwriter & producer, Stephen Wells. Summoning an off-kilter incarnation of sun-drenched bedroom pop, Birthday Club swirls together dark and jangly guitars with a shimmering backdrop of brooding synthesizers. Birthday Club has produced several original scoring compositions for NPR radio and has been featured at festivals around the U.S. like SXSW Official, CMJ, Savannah Stopover and In Bloom Festival alongside bands like Beck, Grizzly Bear and Explosions in the Sky

Drawing upon swatches of psychedelia and New Wave, Houston's Birthday Club crafts eclectic pop tunes awash in faint allusions to L.A.'s mid-Eighties Paisley Underground. Guitarist/vocalist Stephen Wells cuts a commanding center stage persona on souped-up summer blasts like "Having Too Much Fun" from last year's Lighten Up EP - Austin Chronicle "Must See Pop Bands of SXSW

The synth lines on Birthday Club’s new single “Having Too Much Fun” sound like they were lifted straight from an “all killer” mixtape of only The Cure’s most body-moving hits. Meanwhile, the guitar plays along with a riff that could have slotted in nicely in any number of new wave comps. But rather than jump on the track with a morose, sad-boy delivery a la Robert Smith, this Houston band sets themselves apart with an uplifting, echo-y vocal worthy of the song’s title ... If the band can wrangle together a few more tracks that hit with this level of intensity, then their debut EP Lighten Up will be a force to be reckoned with - Consequence of Sound
