The Rediscovering North America expedition was roughly 5,300 miles, paddled by canoe from the Gulf of Mexico to the Arctic Ocean. The six-man expedition took a total of 245 days to complete. Starting January 2nd, 2015, Luke Kimmes and five others left the Gulf of Mexico — paddling against the current up the Mississippi River, through winter conditions for the next 85 days, reaching the Twin Cities on April 4.
After almost 2,200 miles, Luke and his group made it to downstream, continuing more than 3,000 miles over the next three months. 17 resupplies later, a destination was reached: the Arctic Ocean, and the small town of Kugluktuk in the Nunavut Territory. All for the sake of adventure.
