Following a stint at motocross where he won 3 world championships, Dallas native Robert Matthew Van Winkle became known professionally as Vanilla Ice when he began his rap/hip hop music performances in the 1980’s . He won the American Music Award for Favorite Pop Rock New Artist and Hip Hop New artist in 1991. That same year, his hit song Ice Ice Baby won the Peoples Choice Award. Recently, he hosted a television show The Vanilla Ice Project on DIY network. He continues to pursue Music, motocross, and television.
