The University Counseling Center at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi will be showing "Written Off," the next film in the “Reel Talk” Mental Health Film and Discussion Series, on Tuesday, March 5, at 5 p.m. in University Center, Lonestar 142C. “Written Off” is a documentary film that follows the valiant decade long journey of Matt Edwards as he battles opioid addiction after being prescribed a powerful painkiller following a botched surgery. Come witness the complicated human experience of addiction, including all the secrets, shame, and crushing stigma that make Edwards feel like society has written him off. Following the film there will be a Q&A panel with campus and community experts. Free Popcorn will be available! This event is free and open to all students, staff and faculty. Professors are encouraged to offer extra credit to their students for attending.
