The Coastal Bend Food Bank provides Pantry Boxes to approximately 80,000 individuals each year. These boxes are distributed at 128 sites in the eleven-county area that we serve. In 2016, over 8 MILLION pounds of food was distributed to those in need.

Pantry Boxes contain food staples such as beans, rice, canned meats, fruit and vegetables, boxed foods, and shelf-stable milk. It’s rare for our clients to be able to create an entire meal from the odd collection of items in the box.

That’s where Coastal Bend chefs come in.

The Coastal Bend Food Bank is challenging Corpus Christi’s finest, most innovative chefs, to create a dish from a prescribed list of ingredients – their Mystery Box. Each chef will submit a recipe toward our fundraising cookbook. For each cookbook sold, a FREE cookbook will be donated to Food Bank clients.
