Creating A Lifelike Portrait In Watercolor

In this two day workshop students will learn to observe and draw the features of the face - essential for getting a good likeness. Each student will provide an enlarged photo as a reference for their portrait. They may choose the image of a loved one, or perhaps a face they find interesting, such a photo taken on their travels. Students will learn to mix colors on the pallet and on the paper which they will blend as needed to create believable skin tone and texture. Students will learn about design composition and the handling of watercolor paints. Each student will have the opportunity to leave the workshop with a finished original painting to keep or to give as a gift.
