The legendary Mel Brooks will take The Chicago Theatre stage on Saturday, May 27, 2017 for an inside look at his storied career and the making of the monstrously entertaining Young Frankenstein. The cinematic masterpiece will be presented on the big screen at 3:00PM and will be followed by a live conversation with Brooks.
Mel Brooks is one of the few entertainers to earn all four major entertainment awards – an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar and a Tony. Brooks won his first Oscar in 1964 for writing and narrating the animated short The Critic and his second in 1968 for the screenplay of his first feature film The Producers. Many hit comedy films followed including Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein, Silent Movie, Spaceballs, Robin Hood: Men in Tights and Dracula: Dead and Loving It.
