Sensational rock artists Rod Stewart and Cheap Trick are bringing their signature sounds to the Blossom Music Center!

Cheap Trick was formed in Rockford (Illinois) in 1973 by guitarist Rick Nielsen, bassist Tom Petersson, drummer Bun E. Carlos and vocalist Robin Zander. The band's been through many line-up changes since then and it currently consists of Robin (lead vocals and rhythm guitar), Rick (lead guitar, keyboards, and backing vocals), Tom (bass and backing vocals), and touring member Daxx Nielsen (drums). Over the years, their musical style's spanned many genres such as hard rock, power pop (a style that draws its inspiration from 1960s British and American rock music and typically incorporates a combination of musical devices such as strong melodies, clear vocals and crisp vocal harmonies, economical arrangements, and prominent guitar riffs), arena rock (a style of rock music that originated in the mid 1970s, featuring more commercially oriented, radio friendly, and highly produced sounds, consisting of rockers, power ballads, and anthemic choruses), and new wave (a genre of rock music that moved away from smooth blues and rock and roll sounds to create pop music that incorporated electronic and experimental music, mod, and disco). They’ve had an illustrious career with 19 studio albums, 6 live albums, 17 compilation albums, 7 music videos, 3 extended plays, and 64 singles. In 2007, the Illinois Senate passed a resolution declaring April 1 as Cheap Trick Day in the state and the band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2016.
