Christopher Alan Young was born in Murfreesboro (Tennessee) in 1985 and is a singer, songwriter, and guitarist. While his musical style can be broadly classified as country, it's best described as a blend of neo-traditional country (a sub-genre of country music that emphasizes the instrumental background and a traditional country vocal style) and contemporary country (a sub-genre of country music that primarily draws from classic honky tonk, but also boasts all the advantages of updated production techniques and equipment, proving that pure country music can sound authentic yet modern). He’s had a stellar career with 7 studio albums (all top 6 hits on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart), 1 extended play, 20 singles (9 of which were #1 hits on Billboard's Country Airplay chart), and 15 music videos. He's received many accolades including a CMT Music Award (Nationwide Is On Your Side Award), 2 American Country Awards (for Breakthrough Artist of the Year and Single of the Year), a British Country Music Association (for International Act of the Year), and 2 Grammy Award nominations (for Best Male Country Vocal Performance and Best Country Duo/Group Performance).
